・What is an Apostille and why do I need it?

Apostille is a type of authentication issued to documents so that a person can use such document in another foreign country that participates in the Hague Convention of 1961. By obtaining an Apostille, the signatures and seals of officials on PUBLIC documents are authenticated and requires no further authentication process such as from the notary office or from the legal affairs bureau.

 ・What if my document is not a public document?

You can obtain an Apostille for your private document by making the document into a public document. Provided that certain documents may not be able to convert into a public document.
